Upgrading Sage Version

Upgrading Sage Version

Decorus is compatible with Sage versions v16 - v25 (2010 through to 2018). Each Sage version has a separate 3rd party activation key so whenever you update your Sage version you will need to get a new 3rd party key from Sage.

Please note: Some more recent versions of Sage Version 24 and 25 no longer require a 3rd party integration key so skip to the next step

To activate your third party integration or ‘Sage Data Object’, log into Sage and go to Tools > Activation > Enable 3rd Party Integration.

The next window will prompt you to enter a serial number and key

(This is NOT the key that came with your Sage software), for this you must either go to my.sage.co.uk/public/help/askarticle.aspx?articleid=9342 or call Sage on the support number provided 0845 111 6666 and ask them for the ‘3rd Party Activation Key’. Once entered this will allow Sage and Decorus to communicate with each other.

You will need to do this on each PC running Sage and Decorus.

If installed on a server, it just needs entering once on the server – as each user accesses the same Sage program.

Alternatively, you can register the 3rd party Sage integration through Decorus, which will enter the relevant key into Sage.

On the main screen of Decorus, Click the Spanner icon on the top tool bar for ‘Sage Company List’

Click the ‘Register 3rd Party Integration’ button.

Enter the Serial No. and Activation Key and then Click ‘Register’.

You will also need to check that you have the correct Sage version selected within Decorus. This is done from the ‘Sage Company List’ screen. Simply select the version of Sage you are using from the drop down list.

The last thing to check is that the correct Sage data path is entered into Decorus. To do this double click on the Sage company from the ‘Sage Company List’.

This will open the company window. Check that the data path in the ‘Sage Data’ box matches the one in Sage. You can do this either by clicking ‘Check Connection’ or manually looking in Sage.

To check your Sage data path from within Sage, go to the Help tag and select about from the list.

Your data path is under the ‘Data Directory’.

If this data path does not match the one in Decorus, then click the link and copy the path.

Then just paste the path into the Decorus ‘Sage Data’ box.

Clicking ‘Check Connection’ should now if not before show the connection between Decorus and Sage is working.
