Sidekick Overview
Sidekick is
a powerful application that runs in the background independently of your
Decorus software.
Sidekick
features are:
Configuration
The configuration of sidekick settings can be found in
the Overview Tab – User List – Sidekick tab.
The options are:
· To load sidekick at login for that particular user.
· Run multiple instances – is used when you need to run
sidekick more than once, if it is installed on a server . environment, when many users are logging on
to the same Decorus Software.
· To import outlook Emails into Decorus which syncs in 1 min
intervals (make sure Outlook is running).
· There is a drop down box option, to import All Emails or from
a certain Date in the past, or a certain Date and Time in the past.
· Can Import new jobs and contacts from the company website –
is used when you have a web feed setup to your website.
You can send background Emails and SMS for diary alerts option - Which can
be edited in diary events.
In a Diary entry click on the ‘Alerts’ button
Choose where the alert goes to, whether it is an Email or SMS, what time
you want the 1st and 2nd reminder alerts, and if you want
a pop up reminder as well
Other options which are available in Sidekick user admin:
· Can backup Decorus data – which is set up in the ‘Overview’
module – ‘Preferences’ – ‘Backup Preferences’
· Set to Backup once or twice a day and at what time. It is
advisable to schedule a backup at least once a day and set Sage to schedule a
backup at the same time, so your backups are in sync
‘Can Sync Sage splits – Which is to sync Sage data that has been
re-indexed in a unique way, so that it can be accessed faster.
You can then enter a new Sage logon that you have created in Sage, e.g.
username sidekick.
This username will only be used when syncing Sage splits, meaning it will
not slow down processing any other Sage activities for other users.
