Credit Control
- If you purchase 'Credit Control' module please insure that you have correct add on.
- You should be able to see add on code under company 'Preferences', 'Add on' tab.
- Before you start setting up new rules in 'Credit Control', you have to set up aging periods in Decorus Essentials. To do that select 'Aged Balances' in 'Tenancy' module.
- Set aging period accordingly.
- After you set aging periods you can start your work on 'Credit Control'.
- To access 'Credit Control', go to 'Tenancy' module and select 'Credit Control'.
- 1st step is to set up all 'Rules'. Click 'New Rule'.
- 'Credit Control Rule' will appear; this is where you have to set up requirements for your 1st rule. Start with 'Criteria'.
- Make sure rule is set up to be 'Active'.
- Once your 'Criteria' is set, move to 'Action'. Make sure that for each action, you configure correct template.
- All your 'Templates' are set in 'Preferences', 'General' tab in 'Documents'.
- You can configure additional charges against tenant for late payment.
- 'Credit Charge' screen:
Type - always 'Invoice'.
Nominal - correct nominal code from your nominal ledger.
Description - type correct description (default : 'Late Payment Fee').
Net - net value.
VAT - correct VAT code (1 - if you charge VAT on your services, 9 - if you are not VAT registered).
- Click 'OK' to confirm the charge.
- Once the 'criteria' and 'Action' are set, click 'Save'.
- Your 1st rule will appear in the 'Credit Control Rules' window.
- You can add as many rules as you like, all with different criteria.
- Once all rules are in place just 'Run' credit control.
- When you click 'Run', Decorus Essentials will print any letters, send any SMS, setup any calls to be followed and will send emails to your Decorus Essentials outbox. These are then sent from the email centre in Decorus Essentials.
